Congratulations to Sarah Biernacki, winner of February's 90-Day Body Transformation Challenge!

Sarah Biernacki lost 18 pounds in February and shed over 10 inches! For her overall transformation, she was chosen as February's winner and will receive $500 cash and an IGNITE™ kit (a $226.90 value). Here's her Xyngular journey in her own words:

"Many of you have read my personal story on the Xyngular and Visionaries Worldwide website. I started this 90 day challenge with the mindset that even if I didn't win the entire challenge or any of it that the benefit to my personal health would really be a grand prize in itself.

I really embraced the IGNITE™ program and CORE4™ system as a tool for eating; I kept myself motivated with all of the awesome support from the vast amount of people on the team. Since I have been using the products regularly, I find myself more conscious of what I am putting into my body. I am not perfect and still "cheat". Chocolate is still something I love to indulge in but these products have helped me put things in perspective and have given me a guide on when it's ok to go ahead and reward yourself. I absolutely love how I am feeling while using these products and will continue to use them throughout my weight loss goals and also throughout my new healthier lifestyle!"
Hooray for Xyngular!

Xyngular® 90-Day Body Transformation Challenge Commitment #14: I will eat wisely at restaurants

It may true that many restaurants serve portions large enough for a small army. The same serving of pasta is given to both a 120-pound woman and a 250-pound man. Portions typically include only small amounts of protein and limited vegetables while the refined and starchy carbohydrates take the majority of the plate.
Here are some suggested commitments
• I will eat protein portions the size of my palm. If the serving of protein in your entrée is too small, I'll boost it by ordering a low-fat, high protein appetizer. Or I'll requesting extra meat, chicken, or tofu on my salad or sandwich. If there is too much protein, I'll ask to take half of it home in a doggie bag.

• I'll make the steamed or grilled vegetable choices. Or I'll choose a side salad. If I see a meal on the menu that I crave, but it probably has a high portion of starch, such as bread, rice, or pasta, I'll think about what you really want and I'll request come adjustment to serving sizes. If I decide on grilled fish and steamed veggies, but I also know the rolls are fabulous, I'll eat one! But I won't also have a baked potato and extra rice. The bread is my only starch for the meal.

• I'll be prepared for eating out. Whether it's at a restaurant or at a friend's house, I'll always eat a mini meal before I head out the door. I'll include a good source of lean protein and some high-fiber vegetables. For example, two hard-boiled eggs with a side of steamed broccoli would work. It will fill you up and keep your blood sugar even and happy for a while so your cravings won't let you devour the whole buffet table.

• I will not fear buffets. Just because it's an eat-all-you-want buffet doesn't mean I have to go back ten times. If I feel I want to take several trips to the buffet tables like everyone else, I'll start with the lean protein, such as sliced turkey breast, red meat, or fish. This sets my metabolism and limits the hunger. The next plate can have the steamed vegetables. I'll leave the starchy carbohydrates, fruits, and sweets for last when I'm least hungry.

Xyngular® 90-Day Body Transformation Challenge Commitment #13: I will tame the sweetener monster.

SMost people love something sweet, but those of us who struggle with our weight have often been so shamed by our cultural obsession with diets that we have an unhealthy feeling about sugar and all sweets.

We don't have to abandon all sugar and all sweets forever. But we do commit to severely restricting it during every IGNITE™ cycle and whenever we go on a partial IGNITE...like when we are eating only protein for dinner. Going off sugar helps us release our cravings and regulate our blood sugar.

As we seriously restrict sugar from time to time, we begin to recognize how different foods affect our body. It becomes easier to make wiser choices based on how we feel when we're eating sweets.
Sweets don't have to be totally taboo if we can learn to manage them with Xyngular products and systems so that the occasional indulgence doesn't completely sabotage our fitness goals.

Sugar is interesting in the way it can ignite our cravings and throw our blood sugar level so out of control that it becomes almost impossible to control our portions and make wise food choices. By severely restricting sugars and placing different limitations on ourselves, we begin to identify which sugar-laden products we can handle and which ones we need to completely eliminate from our kitchen, our car, or our desk drawer.

We start by noticing how particular sugary products affects us. We all know a few people who can walk away after eating a handful of M&Ms and those who have to devour the whole bag.

With every type of sweets we have, we can ask ourselves, "If I have a reasonable amount, do I instantly crave more? Do I feel exhausted a half hour later? Do I feel mentally cloudy or a little unwell?" If so, our body probably doesn't process that particular sweet very well. We need to respect our own body's individual reaction to sugar and figure out a safe way to enjoy sweets without making ourselves sick. Mindfully going through this exercise won't make our reaction to the difficult products any easier, but we'll be able to say "no thanks" more confidently. We'll have a conscious reason to do it.

There are a few commitments that can help us keep our sugar sanity:

I won't eat sugar when I'm hungry. A sugary treat on an empty stomach is far more likely to trigger severe cravings, which cause us to eat far more of the treat than we would if we were full.

I will only eat sweets after a meal with significant protein. We're far less likely to eat a large portion of sweets after a balanced meal. It's important that the meal have a good low-fat source of protein such as grilled salmon, lean beef, chicken, or turkey. The protein lowers the impact of the sugar on your metabolism.

I will eat differently because I'm saving up for dessert. If we know we'll want dessert, we need to make sure to stay away from starchy carbohydrates like bread, pasta, and grains. Our dessert will count as our starch.

I will eat only the highest quality sweets. We'll enjoy our sweets slowly and deliberately, enjoying the flavor, taste, and texture. When we do, we'll begin to notice high quality sweets. We'll learn to choose the higher quality chocolate because we have discriminating taste buds. We don't want to waste our valuable calories or our money on anything inferior.

I will give up the guilt. Guilt and shame are never good weight loss motivators in ourselves or others. They will most often inspire us to eat more, not less. When we talk of sweets as poison or completely forbidden, we can feel that we have to sneak them. Sneaking leads to obsessive thoughts and very poor choices. If we can decide to live in mindful moderation with sweets, we can control them rather than letting them control us.

I will have a plan. We can handle our cravings, even surprising ones, by anticipating that we'll have them. If we know ahead of time that our body reacts to sugar by craving more and more, we can have a plan ready to help our body metabolize all that sugar. We can load on some welcome protein with a LEAN Shake. We can go on a day or two of IGNITEâ„¢. We can even do something else that feels good and takes our mind off the urge to eat the whole pint of ice cream, like taking a relaxing bath.

"I posted my weight loss once on Facebook and got 27 responses"

I was introduced to Xyngular January 8, 2012, by my friend Dixie.
I have previously had stomach issues with ulcers and hernias. After being hospitalized with a bleeding ulcer in October 2011, my doctor told me something had to change. He said no more coffee, soda, spicy food, and a whole list of things. I couldn't believe it. I lived for my pot of coffee and spicy food every day! I had three different meds they wanted me to take. I filled only one out of the three and took it for a week. Of course it didn't do anything for me. So I went 10 miserable days with a horrible headache from caffeine withdrawl.

I knew I had to do this for my health. Since October 2011 I guess you could say I have been "Going Green"! I started cooking much healthier, using organic products, using essential oils to treat my kids colds and fevers, etc. So when Dixie told me about this new product that was all natural, I was all about learning more! I became a Distributor that night!

My first day of IGNITE™ I had so much energy, and I felt fantastic! I lost 7 pounds and 7 inches!

I posted once on Facebook and got 27 responses! I was overwhelmed, I had no idea what I was doing let alone telling someone else what to do! I called Kristi Welch. Can I just say she is a saint!
She calmed me down, and helped me do conference calls and tastings. My first 30 days Kristi helped me understand the business end of Xyngular. I posted my husband's results on Facebook and had another huge response! People are loving Xyngular because its all natural and because it is quick weight loss!

Xyngular has changed my life! I have a ton of energy without having to drink a pot of coffee every day! This product has made me a better wife, mom, friend ... an overall better person.

I love to share Xyngular with everyone I know and everywhere I go! There are people in this world, who think if the doctor tells them to take a pill, they have to be on it without asking questions or trying to get healthier so they can go off it. I want those people to know that we don't necessarily have to live on pharmaceutical meds with all their side effects the rest of our lives. There are natural products out there like Xyngular's, and they're "AmaXYNG"!

Xyngular® 90-Day Body Transformation Challenge Commitment #12: I will get involved in something bigger.

Sometimes during our 90-Day Transformation we become frustrated by the little stuff that crops up on our weight-loss journey—like that pair of pants that don't fit as well as we expected, or a 2-day plateau in our weight. And we forget to think about the rest of our life, the larger picture. When we get too focused on the small issues of our weight loss, we need to reconsider the complete vision we have for ourselves.

We are not defined by our weight. And our value in life is certainly not defined by all the measurements we're taking during our 90-Day Challenge. If we have a constant microscope on ourselves and on our weight, it may actually become harder to keep our commitments.
It's important to move to a larger perspective and take in the complete picture of who we are. We need a passionate attitude about other things in our lives. And that can weaken the fixation on food and our former, negative obsessions with our weight.
When we exercise out of doors, we can appreciate and become passionately grateful for the beautiful world we live in. We can become inspired by things that are beautiful around us and things we can do to make our world even more beautiful. We need to think more broadly rather than obsessing about our own inner world and our trivial frustrations with our weight.

We can take on something bigger than ourselves—like a helping others who need some extra income or thinking about new things we can accomplish because we have more energy than ever before. We can participate in life to the point where food isn't at the center of our consciousness but only something that nourishes and sustains us. It isn't an obsession.

Just imagine how many people we can now help because we have our life back. We have something wonderful to share. We now have the energy to do it. And we can help ease some of the family financial stress by doing it. Because we're not so uncomfortable about the way we look, we can start noticing others. We can start to see what goes on in our own community and not be afraid to become involved. It's surprising how much Xyngular® can change every aspect of our lives and make us better people.

"I save people's lives (in bulk) for a living"

My story is really simple! I was miserable and really unhealthy. I was told by a doctor, 3 days before I looked at Kristi's before-and-after pictures, that if I could lose 20 to 25 pounds that it would change my whole situation. That being said, he knew that he couldn't just expect that from me, so I was headed for a major surgery.

It was all planned out, and I was as ready as you can be to go. I decided that I would look into having the weight loss surgery, and I was on Facebook at the same time. I saw Kristi's mom's before-and-after pictures! I did a litt le more research, and it was a done deal! I called Kristi what did I really have to lose?
I called Kristi and asked her if she had the IGNITE™ for me. I went over to get it. I was so miserable that people were scared of me. I was, as Kristi would put it, "the tough girl In town that people DON'T mess with." And that is really being nice!

I started my 8-day IGNITE program that next day. I was feeling really good that next day! By day three I couldn't shut up about it! I was posting it on Facebook, and I was telling everybody who talked to me how much energy I had! I was helping my family move, and they were wondering what I was on because I was happy and giddy! I couldn't stop laughing, and I truly felt so much better! By day 4 my pants got a lot BIGGER and everybody wanted to know what I was doing!
So I called Kristi and asked her to come tell all of US what I was doing! At that party everybody who walked in to learn, walked out hoping for a better life! They all started and have done very well!

I sleep better too! I just had twins, and I was a walking zombie! When I'm awake I'm awake! When I'm a sleep I'm getting good sleep!

My back procedure was canceled! I'm off of my depression and anxiety pills! I'm off my high blood pressure pills! I CHANGED MY LIFE in 7 days! My kids are proud of me! And my hubby can't get enough of me! People want that in their lives, and that is what I wake up to everyday!

I CHANGE LIVES for a living and help people get what they had lost back! Everybody wants what we have. They what I have become, and I couldn't hide it if I wanted to!

I have a very loving husband, my cheerleaders Kristi and John Welch, and my awesome team. What got me to reach my goal was helping others, being passionate about what is going on in THEIR lives, and being a CHEERLEADER to my people every day!

I can't wait till my new people start posting and messaging me every day! I always have a new "project." My hubby calls them my little strays! I love to help people! I'm going to save the world one person at a time. Of course I was doing it secretly before because I had a reputation to protect. But now that I've lost my weight, I proudly say that I save people's lives (in bulk) for a living! I am so blessed! I love my life, and it has just begun! I'M SEXY AND I KNOW IT!

Xyngular® 90-Day Body Transformation Challenge Commitment #11: I will eat smaller meals more often

Did you know March is the worldwide Nutrition Month? Be sure to share this article to promote good nutrition and health!

We all need to commit to eating something every three to four hours. Eating smaller meals and healthy snacks throughout the day will keep our hunger satisfied, raise our fat-burning metabolic rate, preserve our lean muscle mass, and keep our moods more consistent.

For the same reason why we should never skip breakfast, if we go too long without eating, we can actually cause our body to store fat to protect itself. It will even consume muscle rather than fat. This then means that we burn fewer calories and feel low in energy.

Scandinavian researchers recently tested two diets with athletes who were trying to lose weight. Although they all lost the same amount of weight, those who ate more often lost almost all their fat tissue. At Nagoya University in Japan, athletes who ate six meals a day were better able to preserve their muscle tissue while losing weight weight, while those who ate the same amount of calories in only two meals a day lost muscle tissue.

Many ideas for this and the other articles in this series were gathered from suggestions by Kathy Smith, a well-known fitness icon who has led the charge for exercising, losing weight, and eating healthy for over 30 years.
