90-Day Body Transformation: Why we share

This is a relationship business, and we can only have a strong relationship if we share. That's why we work so hard to develop the ability to share effectively. Whenever we pass something along...big or small...everyone wins. It doesn't matter what it is...an idea, a great book or movie, a feeling of gratitude.

In the process of passing things along, we benefit even more. If we share the tremendous benefits of the 90-Day Body Transformation Challenge with 10 friends, not only do our friends get the opportunity to join us, but we get to hear ourselves tell our story ten times. Our resolve to lose the weight and become fit and fabulous are 10-times greater than if we didn't share. Sharing will always do far more for us than it will for them unless they also start sharing.

Whenever we share something wonderful, we multiply the joy of it. Sharing is an investment in improving how we share. It expands our spirit, our heart, our enthusiasm, our commitment, and our energy. Nothing is more gratifying than hearing, "you really helped me turn my life around, and I've kept at it ever since." We can only hear words like that when we share. That's why we share with our children, our spouses, our colleagues, and with everyone who comes within a few feet of us...even if it's only a smile.

If we have a glass full of water, can we get more water? Yes, but only if we pour some out. We can only have more if we give more. As we share don't just add to our joy...we multiply it. It's not that we lack the capacity to become greater than we are. It's that we don't receive and then turn around and share. Somehow we grow to the point where we can hold more of what's being shared with us.

Some people are so narrow and tight that we could shower them with happiness and they still wouldn't be very happy. Why? They aren't good at sharing happiness, so they can't hold very much happiness.

ACTION STEPS:
1. Spend a day thinking about the 3-foot rule. Share something...even if it's a nod and a smile...with anyone who comes within 3 feet of you.

2. Watch yourself and those on your team to see who is most successful at the 90-Day Challenge. Will it be those who share the most? If it is, you have another great story to tell.

3. Think back through your life at the happiest times. Have they been when you were sharing the most? Do you have a story from that to share?
