How to keep your 90-Day Body Transformation momentum

Whether you just started your 90-Day Challenge a couple of weeks ago or if you're just starting now, you'll want to keep TOMA going. In advertising TOMA stands for "top-of-mind awareness." So every few days you'll get ideas from XYNGULAR® to use for TOMA...motivation, suggestions, and reminders to inspire you to keep you and your accountability team going for your big goals.

Studies show that many won't start a weight-loss program because the final goal looks too hard or feels like it would take too long. But with reasonable goals and a 90-day period, the final result is easier than you think. And you can make adjustments along the way.

Start by looking at your personal full 90-Day Body Transformation goal. Then break it down into short term goals. For example, if your goal is to get in shape for a 5k that's 6 months away, you have two 90-day goals to meet. You obviously won't get there with 15 hours of training every day for a single week. You didn't gain your weight in a short period like that either.

So keep the rate at which you're planning to lose weight realistic. If you haven't been running regularly for 5 years, you'll start with daily and weekly goals for distance. Your first week would be maybe a mile a day, the next week 2 miles. You can lengthen the distance each week until you reach your 90-day goal.

Logging and journaling

Recording your daily progress is crucial. Weekly accountability helps you keep TOMA. If you journal throughout your 90-day period, you'll have plenty of time for leverage...to "step it up" if you are falling behind a little. Each entry gives you a boost to stay motivated. It gives you something to report and celebrate with your team along the way. Post your progress reports on Facebook so others can celebrate and join you.

Jim Rohn teaches that journaling is a sign that you're becoming a serious student of your own life and becoming serious about self-improvement. You're taking responsibility for your future...your destiny.

Time to run

The most important part of goal setting is implementing. Once you've set your goals, it's time to get started. Review actual performance measurements against your goals every week, and adjust your pace as necessary. It's time to act when the idea is hot and your emotion is strong.

As Jim Rohn says, "Life is a unique combination of 'want to' and 'how to,' and we need to give equal attention to both."
Throughout the first quarter of 2012, which corresponds to your 90-Day Challenge, we're going to focus on both "want to" and "how to" to help you reach your personal goals. Be sure to read, learn, listen, and share.

ACTION STEPS:
1. Get a calendar, journal, or day planner and start journaling.

2. As you look at your 90-Day Challenge, write in your journal where you think you might need to step it up or make adjustments, and plan ahead for that.

3. Record your journey, with pictures and comments on Facebook.
